Online Reservation

Library users are allowed to place a book on hold. This means that users can make a request for a book that has already been checked out (lent) to another user. In this case, the library staff reserves the requested book and contacts the borrower via email or library chat as soon as the original user returns the requested book.

If the requested book is urgently needed, the library staff may work out a deal with the original borrower to obtain the book even though the date for the book's return may not be yet due.

Online reservation or hold placement of book comes about when the book requested is not found in the library but borrowed by a library user.
